Delayed loan repayments by some borrower members have created financial difficulties in Co-operative institutions, preventing timely refund of members’ savings. Under the Bagmati Province Co-operative Act, 2076, Co-operatives are legally empowered to take actions such as freezing accounts and restricting asset transfers against defaulters. Borrower members are therefore urged to repay loan principal and interest on time in accordance with applicable laws and loan agreements to help resolve existing issues.
